Ask R U OK? any day, because life happens every day.
Since 2021, ING Australia has partnered with R U OK? to encourage more Aussies to start a conversation that could change someone’s life.
In the time it takes to have a cuppa
R U OK? is a public health-promotion charity founded by the late Gavin Larkin in 2009 to help protect others from experiencing the pain his family felt when his father died by suicide.
Gavin believed that ‘in the time it takes to have a cuppa, you could start a conversation that could change a life’ – a sentiment backed by research that has found feelings of connection and belonging can help protect against suicide.
From one day to any day
What started as R U OK? Day – a national day of action held on the second Thursday in September each year – has now become a year-round conversation movement.
That’s why R U OK? is now calling on all Australians to Ask R U OK? Any Day.
Over 50% of us experience stress
More than half of Australians experience a stressful time at least once a year1, while nearly
2 in 5 report high or very high levels of distress2.
Whether it’s your friend, family member, partner, colleague or teammate, the people you care about go through life’s ups and downs every day.
Ask early and often
As a Conversation Partner of R U OK? we understand regular, meaningful conversations can help prevent small things from becoming big things.
That’s why we are proud to join them in encouraging everyone to Ask R U OK? Any Day.
ING Australia is proud to support the When Life Happens, Ask R U OK? content series, which shares real life stories and expert conversation advice.
