Refer a Friend FAQs

What is the Refer a Friend campaign?

Refer a Friend is a promotion we run from time to time where we give customers the chance to be rewarded with a cash bonus for referring a new Orange Everyday customer. If a customer is eligible to refer friends, they will receive an email regarding the necessary steps. Terms and conditions do apply in order for the referring customer and the friend to receive the cash bonus, so please read through the email carefully.

I have opened an account using a Refer a Friend code, when will I receive my bonus?

Once all the eligibility requirements are met by the referred friend, the bonus will be paid the month following. For example, if the referred friend meets all requirements in April the bonus would be paid by the end of May.

I have received a Refer a Friend offer email – what should I do next?

The invitation should provide clear instructions to follow – customers can always contact us if they have any questions.

I have a promotional code, where can I enter it?

As part of the online application form, there is a section called ‘Promotional code’ where you will be able to enter the code you have been given. This is found under the ‘Review & next steps’ heading after you have entered your personal details.

How will I know if I am eligible for the Refer a Friend campaign?

Customers who are eligible will be contacted via email to receive a promotional Refer a Friend code. This email will also detail the steps required in order to receive a bonus for yourself and your friends.

I referred my Friend, how would I know if they have met eligibility?

Due to privacy, we are not able to confirm whether your friend has met eligibility requirements.

What if I forget to enter my promotional code?

If the code is not entered during the application, we will not be able to match it with your application and you will not receive the bonus.

What other promotions are running?

ING run different promotions from time to time and we send emails to let our eligible customers know about what is currently on offer. Please ensure your email address is kept up to date in order to receive these offers.

Lost my code, how can I find it?

Your Refer a Friend code would have been in the email that we have sent you and it is also within ‘Offers’ in the mobile app or online banking.

Simply follow the below steps:

Via Mobile App

  1. Login to the ING app
  2. Click on the menu in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Click on Offers at the bottom of the menu.

Via Mobile Banking

  1. Login to online banking at ing.com.au
  2. Go to the menu on the left and click on My offers.

How many people have I referred and how would I know they have met eligibility?

Unfortunately, policies around privacy restrict us from providing this type of information to you. If your friend or family have met eligibility, they will receive an email to advise they will be receiving their bonus within the next fortnight.

When the bonus is paid, the transaction history will show ‘Miscellaneous Credit’ for the bonus amount with either ‘Thank-ING you’ (for the referrer) or ‘Treat-ING’ (for the referee)

Have I completed everything I need to do?

You can check most of this yourself via the mobile app or online banking.

Simply check the following:

  • An Orange Everyday account was opened within the campaign period.
  • A valid Refer a Friend code was entered in the promo code box as part of your application.
  •  A deposit of $1,000+ was made into your new Orange Everyday account within any calendar month.
  • You have made 5+ settled (not pending) purchases using your new Orange Everyday card within any calendar month.
  • You have opened a Savings Maximiser (if you did not already have one) and deposited any amount into it.

 

If you have completed all the steps above, we will pop a bonus into both you and your referring friend’s Orange Everyday accounts, within 30 days after your friend(s) has met eligibility, in some cases this may take longer.

This offer is only available for new Orange Everyday customers only.

The offer does not apply if you have opened an Orange Everyday account:

  • at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed); or
  • as part of an application for an Orange Advantage Home Loan.

I did not receive my payment, why?

You may have missed one or some of the eligibility steps.

If still within the campaign period, then you still have time.

 

You can check most of this yourself via the mobile app or online banking.

Simply check the following:

  • An Orange Everyday account was opened within the campaign period.
  • A valid Refer a Friend code was entered in the promo code box as part of your application.
  •  A deposit of $1,000+ was made into your new Orange Everyday account within any calendar month.
  • You have made 5+ settled (not pending) purchases using your new Orange Everyday card within any calendar month.
  • You have opened a Savings Maximiser (if you did not already have one) and deposited any amount into it.

 

If you have completed all the steps above, we will pop a bonus into both you and your referring friend’s Orange Everyday accounts, up to 30 days after your friend(s) has met all the requirements.

I completed five card transactions, however not all settled. Can I still receive my Refer a Friend bonus?

To be eligible for the Refer a Friend bonus the 5+ card purchases need to be settled (not pending) within any calendar month during the promotional period.

My friend got targeted with an offer of $125, why is mine only $75?

ING run different promotions / price points from time to time and we send our customers emails to let them know about what is currently on offer.

This may have been the offer you have been targeted with for this round of the Refer a Friend campaign period.
